SDC Construction has Project Experience on Management Services. The Following are projects that we Managed:
- Dallas Independent School District $1.37B 2002 Bond Program Management. Management of the $1.37B 2002 Bond Program. One of three Program Management Teams on the Bond Program and interfaces with the other program managers on a daily basis. The three program managers of the DISD Bond Program work as a seamless team. SDC has been assigned 54 projects in Phase II, including one new school (2006) and 14 Additions, with delivery date of 2005. Assigned 23 projects in Phase III, including three new schools and one addition with a delivery date of 2006. A total budget of $293 M. The projects have been grouped into 33 Bid Packages and are proceeding on time and on budget. SDC’s professional staff members are performing the full-time positions of Deputy Program Director, Facilities Planning Project Manager, MEP Project Manager, Structural Project Manager, and Administrative support.
Services include review of engineer/architect proposals for recommendation in the selection process and provide A/E orientation for selected firms. Our role involves time management/scheduling, overseeing the budget, and enhancing the design of renovations or new facilities. SDC professionals perform as an extension of the DISD staff.
- DeSoto Independent School District, $35M 2004 Bond Program. Program Manager for major high school renovations to counselors and administration suites and science labs, and new additions to include the construction of a competition third gym, a band hall, technology suite for district-wide technology, cafeteria relocation, and ROTC program area. Improvements to the Ben Dial Athletic Complex (Eagle Stadium) include 5,000 new home seats with associated parking spaces on the former visitor side. Also, 30,000 sq. ft new athletic areas on a sub-concourse level, and concessions/public spaces on an open concourse, and a new press box. The existing field house will be renovated for all other sports. Additionally, capital renewal projects at various campuses are planned.
Cedar Hill Independent School District, $90M 2001 Bond Program. Serving as Assistant Program Manager/Manager for Information and Control System. The program includes the construction of a 9th Grade/Transitional high school, middle and elementary schools, various additions and renovation packages to existing facilities and land acquisition for future facilities. This 10-year management agreement with Cedar Hill ISD involves managing their capital expenditures and directing the implementation of the facility goals as outlined in the district's instructional plan. We are also managing the following important activities:
- Creation and management of the district's facilities web-based master plan
- Facilitation of the district's instructional planning process
- Development of the districts education specifications
- Creation and implementation of the districts emergency response plan
- Coordination of City/County agencies for web-based emergency site information
- Development and implementation of the district's web-based preventive maintenance plan
- Management of Information and Control Systems
- Assist the Program Director

- DeSoto Independent School District – Strategic Facilities Planning Study. With a thorough knowledge of bond programs and the significant role this study will play in the delivery of quality education – SDC will review and evaluate the existing facilities assessment study and process the data to develop a comprehensive Strategic Facilities Planning Study. Educational Specifications will be prepared for each grade level. District-wide Technical Specifications will be developed to identify district standards of quality, materials, equipment, and fixtures. Our scope includes a Code Analysis and Impact Study – IBC 2000. Further studies include a Functional Capacity Study, Athletic Facilities Study, Site Analysis/Capacity Study, Master Schedule Study and Development, Land Acquisition Study, Design/Construction Delivery Methods Study, and a detailed Structural Buildings Capacity Study. Additionally, SDC will conduct a Cash Flow Analysis and a Site Condition Assessment.
We will implement a web-based data collection and analysis system. This web-based format will allow us to provide a basis for project aggregation, deferred maintenance priorities and will allow integration of preventive/maintenance or work order system items. This study is in response to the population growth, demographic fluctuations, state regulatory changes, and the District’s educational services objective. - Dallas City Center. $8 million reconstruction of six blocks of Downtown Dallas, including construction of Pegasus Plaza Park as the centerpiece of this project. Weekly coordination meetings included representatives from the City of Dallas, DART, Central Dallas Association, Property Owners, Merchants and all involved Utility Companies and their contractors as well as the Project General Contractors and Subcontractors. Scope included developing construction schedules to provide minimal adverse impact on merchants, cost control and quality assurance, while completely reconstructing the entire infrastructure of Main Street-new sidewalks, repaving, planting trees, installing new lighting system, a banner program and construction of Pegasus Plaza within an 18-month period.
- Cedar Hill Independent School District, $29M Bond Program. Program included the construction of a new football/track stadium, 2,500-seat auditorium, classroom additions, parking facilities, roof repairs and new middle school construction. Identified necessary scope of services for all re-constructive work, as well as review scope of services for new construction as outlined by school district. This system is a prerequisite for developing and coordinating the design and construction schedule with the sale of bonds.
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Light Rail Vehicle Inspection Management. Vehicle Inspection for 70 light rail vehicles. Services include monitoring, inspecting, testing and overseeing manufacturing operations in Osaka, Japan and Dallas, Texas sites.
- D/FW International Airport, Southeast Holding Apron and Blast Wall, $20M. Design and construction management of penalty box for aircraft during south flow. Provided design and construction administration for an aircraft holding apron, realignment and extension of an existing emergency road, and extension of a pre cast concrete blast protection wall.
